Doorway to the Past The remains of the Kent Public School, located along Interstate 10 in Culberson County, nearly covered in Mesquite. Likely built in the early 1900's. Kent is classified as a Ghost Town, as there are very few residents and many abandoned buildings and businesses. A quarry is located just over the hill from this vault. With a steel reinforced door frame, this may have been use for secure storage of blasting materials. This is located a few miles West of Van Horn, Texas. These photos were hastily shot, due to a heavy downpour, just to the East.
