First Test of Scratch Engraving Process

The letters were smaller than any end mill or engraver that I had. So I tried a scratch engraving process with a pointed tool. -Use a sharply ground & pointed 1/8" dowel pin -Engrave depth of about 5 thousandths -0 RPM Feed of 7-10 IPM -Step over of 20-30% -Make sure that the piece is flat.
